The Xerkanos Spell

Well, Ap sort of... doesn't exist anymore... shit.

Okay, I was going to put the old comics back on. I really, really was. But then I looked through them and they didn't show up. Maybe that's my computer going wonky (if it is, by all means tell me), but instead of posting comics that won't exist, I'm just gonna wait until Duke's site is up and running to post the OE's. The site'll likely be some variation of "" or something ( is used by some retarded search engine).

I'll tell y'all when the site's up. Gah... Meeko really blindsided us on this one, he did.

Aw, geez.

Man, what with being on Analog Paladins and all, this site is getting more and more neglected.

But no more! No effing more, I say!

No Need for a post title

All right, this comic is an attempt at letting up on the extreme drama of the past few episodes, with a little mild humour and light-hearted romance, etc., and so on and so forth. Hopefully it's a nice break from the, y'know, tension.

But in the meantime, I have a little story to tell you. See, it's a funny thing, I had the sixteenth comic ready last Wednesday. Now, I got it in my head that it'd be brilliant to check with Spritescaper, as I had some doubts about it. We both agreed that it was too much drama; so I re-did the entire episode, with an entirely different scene last night. Now, normally this wouldn't be a big deal. I mean, it only takes me two or three hours to make an episode of OE, maybe four.

However, I was extremely sick. As in extremely. As such, I was more than a little grumpy that I had to re-do an entire comic while staving off incredible pain. So, happy reading.

Yet another copied post from AP

I pride myself in saying that I managed to complete an episode of O.E. last night. This one is something I doubt any of you were expecting, as it follows the other "group" in this story, who I suppose would be called the villains of O.E., although in time, I hope to make it so that it's hard to discern who the "Good Guys" and "Bad Guys" really are. This would be my first attempt at shedding some light onto the characters of Hexene and Exos, who you've only briefly scene in the Flashback episodes.

In other news, my computer's decided it would greatly enjoy being a royal asshole, so it's been difficult getting some stuff to work, like the program that uploads comics. I mean, it did work, but it took a few tries. I might not be able to upload next Saturday's comic, so if it doesn't show up, that'd be why.

Anyway, tell me what you think.

Information and Clarification

This news post, defying the norm which I have set, does not accompany a comic. Instead, this one's just some stuff I want said about the site, for various reasons.

There will be no comic this Saturday, as I will not be here, and I will not have the time to make one today to put up on delayed update, did not have the time yesterday, or on Wednesday.

And if you think I was gonna make another comic on the day I'm supposed to update anyway (Tuesday), why, you're downright silly.

I'd like to set something straight. As I've come to Analog Paladins, I realize that with the backwash from Duke's readers, I'll be getting a lot more people reading my comic, if not entirely through the means which I originally intended. However, I'm going to establish something right now and maintain it until the completion of Oriosis' Edge, which will likely be a long way away:

In no way will I "Sell out" to attract more readers from Duke's fanbase, or anyone else's, or anyone, really. I believe that as the author it's my duty to serve my story first, and if that means that it brings my comic a certain amount of unpopularity, then so be it. I don't want the story that I originally envisioned for Oriosis' Edge being tainted by bad or out-of-character jokes, petty attempts to draw in more fans, or anything of the like, if it means sacrificing the original story I intended in any way, shape, or form.

I know I probably sound like some indie rocker right now, but I will not change anything about Oriosis' Edge just because it may get me more readers. I will stay true to the story of Aveyan, Ayara, Volite, and Alrea. I'm not one of those psycho-authors who likes to act as if their characters are real people who can converse with them, or anything, but I like the story I created, and its characters, and I'm not gonna screw those characters up for popularity.

Ahem. Rant ova'.

And so it begins.

All righty, since I'm far too lazy to make two news post today, I'm just gonna' copy and paste my news posts from Analog Paladins here.

This comic's main purpose was really to establish a lot of things, especially those regarding Aveyan's background, and a little of his relationship with Alrea. Also, contrary to what this episode suggests, the comic's not about to move into an over-the-top grim and serious stretch, although it may in the future.

Oh, one more thing I'd like to clear up, because people may have misgivings after reading this comic: Aveyan is not emo. He is reflecting on one of the worst times in his life, and his "secret" was unveiled in the last comic rather unexpectedly, that's all.

That out of the way, I'm afraid to say that not all is well in Mattland. From Wednesday to Monday, I'm not going to be able to use a computer, so instead of your regularly scheduled dose of Oriosis' Edge this Saturday, you'll get a guest comic, made by Oblivion Awaits. It's funnier than what my stuff usually is, so you guys should appreciate that.

Today marks a new dawn for O.E.

All right, I have big news.

I now have hosting on Analog Paladins! I'm sure you've heard of AP before, but if you haven't, it's home to such kickass comics as The Ansem Retort and Emerald Blade. I am truly honoured to be a part of Analog Paladins. Also, I'll keep updating here, unless Meeko doesn't want me to. I figure it can't hurt to update on both sites, and I like the Reviews page that I have here :)

Experimentation is scary

So, I've made marginal progress with Photoshop. In the meantime, I'm still using Paint, but I have changed how I organize the frames in the comic. Makes it feel more "Comic-y". I even included nifty arrows to guide you around the frames that are a little confusing in terms of which order they go in.

I'm such a great guy. It really amazes me, it does.

(Actually, in truth, Spritescaper suggested the arrows to me when I showed him the rough version of the comic over MSN).
